Texas based, Brooklyn born, and with roots in Trinidad, Kroywen has lived the blended cultures that his music represents. The sounds of hip hop, rap, soca, reggae, and dancehall flow through him and his smooth voice inspires love and hope. His inspirations include the likes of De La Soul, Frank Ocean, Usher, Buju Banton, and numerous artists of the Caribbean. No stranger to struggle, Kroywen focuses on overcoming obstacles and staying upbeat through it all. Growing up on the poverty line in New York City, his optimism, loving family, and faith in God helped him push past the hard times. After moving to Texas, the culture shock put his social life on hold, until music brought him back. Forming different groups over the years, Kroywen began to hone his skills in multiple contexts. His previous singles as a solo artist and his time as a member of Wi’Deya boosted his popularity and primed him for a new beginning. His debut EP, Saint Kroy, has resonated with audiences across the world, garnering attention from Auckland to Phoenix, Honolulu to San Antonio. Kroywen is just getting started, and is ready to bring more fun, wholesome, and high energy motivations to help the world take a stand against the struggle.
